From an early age, Steve, the founder of Mountain Mosaic, developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors. His passion for nature began in elementary school, mowing lawns and tackling small landscaping projects in his neighborhood. Inspired by the natural world, Steve spent countless hours exploring the open spaces near his home, observing the intricate ecosystems that shaped his vision for thoughtful, sustainable design.

Steve pursued his passion academically, earning a degree in Environmental Design with a focus on Landscape Architecture from the University of Colorado. His career has since spanned diverse roles, from designing urban parks and neighborhood spaces for high-end developers to managing residential landscape installations and overseeing complex projects. With experience in all aspects of landscape design, including CAD, planting plans, water management systems, and project management, Steve has developed a comprehensive skill set to bring any vision to life.

Throughout the years, Steve has found innovative ways to express his love for creating balanced ecosystems. Without a yard of his own to design, he turned his attention to aquariums and terrariums, crafting micro-landscapes that were both beautiful and self-sustaining. These projects honed his ability to create thriving, low-maintenance environments that mirrored the natural world, blending functionality with aesthetic appeal.

Building on this foundation, Steve launched Mountain Mosaic to reimagine suburban landscapes. By combining his professional expertise with his passion for sustainability, he applies principles of water management, soil health, and biodiversity to create landscapes that are both environmentally beneficial and visually stunning. Mountain Mosaic is driven by the belief that our outdoor environments can once again reflect the balance and harmony found in nature, while providing meaningful, functional spaces for people to gather, relax, and connect with the natural world.
